Description

Overcome Abuse, Trauma, and Discover Your True Self

What can we learn from our abuse and trauma? We often see the events of abuse and trauma and get caught up in our victimhood and what was done TO us. But what if this is a wake-up call? What if abuse and trauma are the catalysts to discovering who you are and a pathway for restoration and healing?

Loree Tamayo is a fellow abuse survivor who used her abusive marriage to investigate why she made poor choices when it came to relationships. She went through years of therapy and read countless books and condensed all the tools into one workbook. Yesterday’s Gone Study Guide curriculum is a study on healing by restoring the True YOU. Knowing who you are empowers you to heal from your hurts, take ownership of your story, and set limits on your terms. Don’t let your abuse and trauma define you. Knowledge is power. Use your Yesterday to change your Tomorrow.

“This workbook is a wonderful guide from a survivor’s perspective that pairs well with individual counseling. It incorporates a well thought through balance of theory and practical application and is presented in an easy to understand and empathetic manner. It is essentially a healing curriculum in a box designed for groups and individuals. The author references several noteworthy books and sources that were critical in her healing journey that are well regarded by clinicians. If you or someone you know has experienced abuse and trauma, this book can serve as a meaningful guide from someone who has walked and navigated that path too.”

Dr. Aparna Samuel Balasundaram, Doctorate in Clinical Social Work

“As a clinician specializing in trauma and betrayal, there is often so much that I want to say, concepts to share, and applications to make in support of my clients. Loree has taken years of work and distilled it into a well-organized, palatable, and authentically relatable journey of healing. I commend her for the tenacious spirit she has for mastering her own challenges and relentless pursuit of taking others with her into their own sense of freedom. This program incorporates current research, practical tools, and a progressive path that can be accessed alone or, even better, in a small group. For clinicians, I highly recommend it as an adjunct to individual therapy. “

Leigh Ashley, M.A., LMFT-S, CCTP

“If you are on a path to healing from trauma, abuse, and the anxiety and low self-esteem that often accompany them, you will be so well-served in using Loree’s Yesterday’s Gone Study Guide and videos. Loree shares her story with authenticity and hope (a combination that can be hard to find these days!), and as a survivor herself, you’ll find a compassionate voice and friend to come alongside you. As a clinical therapist and consultant, I find that this workbook is a well-researched yet understandable guide to use with clients in addition to their own counseling or group support. With a mix of neuroscience, cognitive behavior therapy strategies, and useful personal growth tools, I can’t wait for people to experience the Yesterday’s Gone Study Guide curriculum as they continue their healing journey to their real, true selves.”

After years of therapy, retreats, reading, and applying what she’s learned, Loree rose above her abuse and trauma and now works toward helping other survivors.

Loree has built a successful business as a consultant. Her success has made it possible to start a nonprofit called Yesterday’s Gone. Yesterday’s Gone is a transitional housing program that helps women transition from domestic violence shelters or safe houses to living independently with strength and dignity. Loree has made it her life mission to help women have a choice. Have a choice to leave an abusive situation. Have a choice to live and thrive and not have to go back to their former relationships.
