Amani Byrd
Director of Communications and Outreach
Amani Byrd was born and raised in Central Texas—Temple, to be exact. The mission of Yesterday’s Gone is incredibly close to her heart. She believes that domestic violence, though often silent, is a widespread issue that deserves far more attention, awareness, and resources. Being part of an organization that empowers survivors and helps rebuild lives is deeply meaningful to her—it’s work that reminds her every day why advocacy matters.
Amani earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. Her time there prepared her not only academically, but also spiritually, for the
calling she now lives out through this work.
When she’s not at work, Amani enjoys spending time at home with a cozy weekend of movie or series marathons and cooking—her favorite way to recharge and unwind.
